To the question “What kind of dog is that?”

She’s a Madagascar Lemur Hound.  A relative of the Norwegian Elk Hound, during colonial times these dogs were brought to Madagascar to control the booming lemur population and make it possible for British imperialists to pillage and disseminate Christianity more freely.  Bred for strength, cunning, and loyalty, the Madagascar Lemur Hound has an impressive gait and stature.
