I’m probably more of a geek than a freak

So last week at the library I randomly ran across Disc 1 of the Freaks and Geeks complete series, the boy and I watched them all and now we’re completely hooked.  I’m embarrassed that I hadn’t seen them before now – one of those things on the list – and I’m totally sad that I can see the end in sight.  We have only two discs left.  I’m worried that they won’t have known that the show was going to be canceled and I’m just going to be left hanging with all these storylines.

I can’t get over how great this show is.  It’s a less-gross out version of Judd Apatow’s later stuff (such as the Forty Year Old Virgin, which I liked too) – all of these really goofy moments thrown in with some stuff that really rings true.  I’m glad Seth Rogen’s there too, playing basically the same character he played in Forty Year Old Virgin – just younger and slightly more high.

I *love* Freaks and Geeks! I watched it last year for the first time, and then had to buy the whole thing. I have a crush on Bill.

Freaks and Geeks is excellent. I watched it when it was on TV back in the day and was completely baffled when it was yanked off the air. You might want to try Apatow’s next project, Undeclared, which has a LOT of the same actors. It isn’t nearly as good and is supposed to be more comedy than anything, I think…but still good for easing the F&G hangover a bit.
Jason Segel (Nick the drummer) is really great in it. As he is every Monday night on How I met Your Mother. Seriously funny show.
