More time to lounge

Well, it’s over. It’s officially over. I ran my race, and am recovering nicely. Look, here I am finishing:
My form is terrible. But my shoulders look strong.
The race was really fantastic. After the initial panic of getting stuck in a traffic jam (all 4,000 people trying to get to the start line at once), my nerves actually worked in my favor, and I ran a lot faster than I expected to. The crowd is a huge motivator – being in that big group, all doing this crazy thing (there was one gentleman that was particularly crazy – he ran it with NO SHOES). The weather was cloudy and cool (very atypical around here) and I didn’t even really start hating it until about mile 11 (as Ellie said I would). Luckily I had her, mom, dad, and the Benj staggered out for my last mile – it helped seeing those friendly faces.
And you know, I think I will do it again. Not any time really soon – I’m taking at least 1 or 2 weeks off and am enjoying the break from the strict training schedule – but maybe in the spring.

Yay! Congrats! But no time? Or splits? Just curious how long it took ya. 🙂
